The Studio Brand strictly adheres to and uses kosher USP certified vegetable glycerin and propylene glycol in our e‑liquids.
Propylene glycol is a clear, colorless liquid that resembles syrup in consistency. It is used widely in the pharmaceutical and food industry. It has many properties that make it an ideal carrier for many medications and food flavors. Propylene glycol acts as a stabilizer that also aids in dissolving and dispersing the flavors. It is commonly used in cough syrup, medicinal inhalers and food flavorings. It is what gives the feel of an analog (throat hit) when vaping.
The Studio Brand uses kosher US/USP pharmaceutical grade propylene glycol in our e‑liquid formulas.
Vegetable glycerin, also known as glycol is a clear odorless liquid that is derived from plants such as soy and palm. It is a simple sugar that has a low glycemic index and is generally considered non‑toxic. Vegetable glycerin is used extensively in the food industry. Some of its uses are as a humectant (humectants are substances that help keep things moist by absorbing moisture into it). It is also commonly used as filler in low fat foods, preservative, stabilizer and thickener. In e‑liquids, vegetable glycerin is the substance responsible for producing the vapor (cloud) when heated in a vaporizer mimicking the look of smoke.
The Studio Brand uses only kosher USP food grade vegetable glycerin from vegetable sources in our e‑liquid. We do not use, nor will ever use any animal products or by products in the manufacturing of our e‑liquid. Glycerin can also be produced from the marrow of animals, a by-product of the beef industry and this is why you see the statement regarding animals.
The Studio Brand uses 100% Nicotine that is extracted from USA organically grown tobacco. We demand proof of source documents when we purchase our liquid nicotine.
We strongly believe that everyone deserves the truth when it comes to what you are putting in your body! Allowing people to be possibly exposed to toxic heavy metals, arsenic and other contaminants is just plain wrong. Steeping is the process of soaking flavour molecules in a liquid. This extracts, enhances and blends the flavours making it smooth, soft and exceptionally palatable.
Most of our e-liquid is fully steeped and ready to use when it arrives at your door. There are times when there is an exceptionally high demand for product. At these times we may ship product that requires a few days more steeping because we do not want the consumer to wait any longer than necessary. This means that the product is ok to use but will become smoother with a slightly milder throat hit if you let it sit for a few more days.
Even though all of the Studio Brands e‑liquids come with childproof and tamper evident cap we urge you to store your e‑liquid in a locked, cool dark place out of reach of children and pets. A locked upper cupboard is ideal. Shelf life when stored properly is over 2 years. Nicotine levels will degrade in sunlight, excessive heat and when exposed to air.
If you are a regular user of nicotine, finding the right level of nicotine is critical to delivering the satisfaction you need to quell the cravings for cigarettes. This is a personal choice depending on your preferences.
If you are a moderate to heavy smoker (one or more packages of cigarettes per day) you may want to start off using an 18-12mg formula and then wean down to the next level gradually.
If you use a half to one package of cigarettes per day you might start with a 12-6mg formulas again depending on your preferences.
If you smoke less than a half package of cigarettes per day we recommend you start off with a low mg formula like a 6 or a 3 and then slowly and gradually increase the interval of time between vaping to wean off of nicotine.
The Studio Brand e‑liquids currently come in 3mg, 6mg, 12mg and 18mg nicotine strengths. Currently, we do not make 0 mg formulas.
Many companies are discontinuing the manufacturing of 24 mg and higher nicotine level formulas. The Studio Brand has decided against producing a product with a higher level of nicotine due to the fact that even a heavy smoker can use an 18 mg formula by vaping at with a slightly increased rate to address cravings. Nicotine levels higher than 18 mgs can easily lead to a person getting nauseous if they overuse the product. A big part of the satisfaction actually comes from the throat hit which is regulated by steeping and PG levels.
The amount of e‑liquid you use is highly dependant on the frequency of your use and the method and device settings on the device used to vaporize the product. It is very difficult to determine exact amounts.
A typical 1 pack a day smoker will most likely use 15 ml of e‑liquid per week or more. Someone who uses a half pack of cigarettes or less will use approximately 5 to 10 ml of e‑liquid per week or less.
Most people use on average between one to two 30 ml bottles per month although for some people a single bottle will last several months. Again this is highly dependant on the individuals vaping habits.
There are several reasons e‑liquids turn darker in time. One is the oxidation process that happens when Nicotine is exposed to air, another reason some e‑liquids go darker particularly in a tank is that vegetable glycerin is a simple sugar that caramelizes when heated repeatedly through the vaporizer. Every liquid has its ideal temperature for maximum flavour. Overheating any e‑liquid may cause the components to go beyond caramelization and affect the overall color and flavor. E‑liquid also turns slightly darker as it reaches peak maturation. This should not affect the overall performance of a premium e‑liquid but enhance it. Nicotine levels can be slightly degraded if e‑liquid is left in sunlight. To best preserve the quality and flavour at its freshest it is recommended that you store all your e‑liquids in a cool dark location.
If you have no cravings and are just vaping from boredom, you may find you are developing nausea, headache and rapid heartbeat. Other than self regulation, common sense, self awareness and using caution there is no definitive way to tell if you are getting too much nicotine. Nicotine in small doses acts similar to caffeine. Both are (CNS) Central nervous system stimulants which means they will increase your heart rate, respirations, focus and awareness as well as increase your blood pressure.
Based on this it is highly unlikely that a person would overdose on nicotine due to vaping but if excessively used you may become nauseas, have a headache and may have trouble sleeping. Stop vaping or try switching to a lower level of nicotine. If you are unsure of the cause of your symptoms always seek medical attention.
Nicotine in high concentrations is dangerous. It is readily absorbed through the skin.
Poisonings have been reported of both children and animals being poisoned by the ingestion of e‑liquid. Use extreme caution and keep e‑liquids locked and away from children and pets. Safe storage is everyone’s responsibility.

A review done in 2013 of previously reported LD (lethal dose) levels which were reported at 6.5 to 13 mg/kg of body weight taken orally was questioned after several documented cases of people surviving very high doses of nicotine poisoning pointed to the lethal dose level for humans was, at the lowest limit, between 500 to 1000 mg of ingested nicotine. Cautionary measures should be taken to prevent accidental ingestion.
For manufacturers of nicotine, spilling an extremely high concentration of nicotine can lead to poisoning and fatalities due to the fact that nicotine is absorbed through the skin and easily enters the bloodstream.
Nicotine poisoning presents in a two stage pattern. In the first stage, symptoms include nausea, vomiting, salivation, rapid heart beat, headache and seizures. The second stage symptoms are central nervous system, depression, low blood pressure and slow heartbeat, difficulty breathing, weakness, paralysis, coma and death.
